1) The RWB is helping military families stationed overseas. Please bring clipped grocery coupons to any RWB general meeting. Even coupons expired less than 6 months will be accepted! 2) The RWB is also participating in Operation Support our Troops. Items requested include: energy bars, sugarless gum, nuts, Pringles, individual packets of hot chocolate, instant coffee, instant grits, tuna in foil packs, trail mix, toilet paper, dental floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, Band-Aids, Gold Bond powder, Wet Ones, baby wipes, emery boards, non-medicated eye drops, individual Kleenex packs, flyswatters, ball point pens, AA batteries, quart- and gallon-size plastic baggies, writing tablets, boxes of miscellaneous greeting cards, and sunscreen. Items can be dropped off at the monthly general RWB meetings or other arrangements can be made by contacting OSOT Project Chairman. 3) Please contribute to the La. Veterans' Home by donating men's T-shirts, socks, Fixodent, mouthwash, and shaving cream. These items may be brought each month to the RWB general meeting. 4) Watch for details about our "Back to School" community service drive for the Barksdale Family Readiness Center later this fall. |

| LFRW Spring Member Conference & Board of Directors Meeting will be held at the Sheraton Baton Rouge Convention Center Hotel in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15. Registration is $55 per person and includes Wednesday's Board Meeting, buffet lunch, and reception at the Governor's Mansion, as well as Thursday's continental breakfast and our annual Day At The Legislature plus all conference materials. Conference Registration forms will be available at the April RWB meeting. Hotel reservations may be made by calling 1-888-627-8567 and asking for "LFRW Rate" before May 1. |

RWB Scholarship Application The purpose of the RWB Scholarship is to encourage and support women to reach their highest potential by providing some financial assistance to aid them in the furtherance of their education. The amount of each scholarship is $500 per semester. Being chosen to receive a RWB scholarship does not disqualify that same woman from being an applicant or a recipient at a later date. Applications must be postmarked no later than July 1st of each year to be considered for fall semester scholarship. Selection as a recipient of the RWB scholarship will be based upon information provided by the applicant and a personal interview by the scholarship committee. The applicant's narrative statement of interest, her plans for the future, as well as demonstrated financial need will be of most importance in the selection process. Female applicants must fulfill the following initial criteria: 1) be a graduate of a Bossier Parish High School 3) be a registered Republican and have some political experience 4) be able to provide a high school transcript with a GPA of at least 3.5 and a class rank in the top 10%. A student already enrolled in college must have a GPA of 3.0 5) ACT minimum score of 21 6) submit a typed application form completed in its entirety 7) final eligibility will be determined after proof of enrollment is provided 8) students pursuing degrees in either Government, Political Science, Pre-Law, Law or Media-related subjects will receive highest priority for consideration.
